How to Use a Matcha Whisk
Whisking 101
Soak
Before its first use, soak the tines in warm water for 2–3 minutes. Give them a brief soak before later uses to help them flex.
Scrape
Once you’ve added water to the matcha, gently bring any powder on the sides of the bowl into the mixture.
Whisk
Move your wrist quickly in an M or W shape. Keep the tines from pressing into the bottom of the bowl.
Rinse & Dry
Rinse with lukewarm water after use. Let the whisk air dry on a holder, or stand it on its handle with the tines pointing up.

Nio teas has been my favourite place to purchase good quality teas for a while now, and still they never disappoint me. Their teas are excellent quality, however, I’d like to give more attention to customer service - Nio team has been very kind and helpful each time I had any sort of problem. Their customer service never disappoints, they are very attentive and quick in responding to any queries, hence why I’ve been a loyal customer for a while now.

My favorite vendor for Japanese organic loose leaf green teas. They are sourcing some of the best organic teas out of Japan and supporting family farmers and the growing organic tea industry as a whole.I have ordered from every vendor for years and Nio consistently has the best prices and selection overall. They provide top notch customer service and fast shipping as well. Highly recommended 🍃

We ship from warehouses in the US, the EU and Japan — whichever is closest to you. US and EU orders arrive in 4–12 business days; the handful of countries served from Japan take around 10. Business days count from dispatch rather than from when you order, and exclude weekends and public holidays. You'll get a tracking number by email the moment your parcel leaves the warehouse.
We only buy from fields grown without pesticides or chemicals. We ask each farmer directly how they manage their land, visit the plantation and processing facility ourselves, taste every harvest before committing, and check that the biodiversity around the fields is alive. Small family farms don't always carry paperwork — so we verify it in person instead.
Japanese green tea covers an enormous range, and choosing online isn't easy. If you've tried yours and it isn't for you, email info@nioteas.com within 30 days with your order number and a line on what you didn't enjoy. We'll send a different tea of equal or lower value, free. Nothing to post back — keep it, share it, or try brewing it cooler. Once per order.
Email info@nioteas.com within 30 days with your order number and a photo. We'll approve it, cover the return postage with a prepaid label or a reimbursement, and refund you — no restocking fee. Refunds go to your original payment method within 2 business days of the return reaching us; your bank may take another 5–20 to show it.
Unopened items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days. Tea is sealed for hygiene, so opened packs can't come back — but the swap above covers exactly that situation. Return postage is yours unless the item arrived damaged, defective or incorrect.
Orders to the US and EU ship domestically from our local warehouse, so there's no customs charge and no duty. A small number of destinations are served from our Japan warehouse, where your own customs authority may apply import duty, VAT or a carrier handling fee on delivery. Those are set by your country, not by us. Ask before you order and we'll help you check.
Yo! I just tested the Nio Teas whisk together with the Chiran Premium Matcha and your girl is officially OBSESSED! The chasen makes frothing so easy, super fluffy, zero clumps, and that perfect creamy texture we all chase. And the Chiran Premium is...🔥 Approved 100% by the matcha G.O.A.T 💚

I tried Nio Teas’ matcha in my latest video and… wow. The color, the aroma, the creaminess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything came together so beautifully.... As soon as I sifted the powder, I could already tell it was special: vibrant, fine, and incredibly fresh. When whisked, it turned into this silky, frothy bowl of pure green comfort. The taste is smooth and naturally sweet with no bitterness, exactly what I look for in a daily matcha ritual. If you want to see the full preparation, check out my video on @matchabymimi
My new chasen has officially joined the ritual... and what a difference it makes! This bamboo whisk feels light, balanced and incredibly responsive, creating that silky, cloud-like froth that makes matcha feel almost alive. If you want to see it in motion and follow my daily path through the world of matcha, come visit me on Instagram @matchanomichi
This matcha is incredibly high quality, and the bamboo whisk is by far the best I’ve ever used. It’s durable, doesn’t break easily, and blends the matcha perfectly. I’ve been using it for about a month now, and every time I get a smooth, clump-free cup. I highly recommend trying both – definitely worth it!
It's a lot better than my older whisk. I get a better foam . Make sure to soak the whisk before whisking. I use this everyday and noticed that small parts are bended. It's a bit delicate so make sure to soak before using and clean/store it carefully.
I super love Nio Teas' bamboo whisk. It adds up to the experience of making my matcha. It helps me create a beautiful microfoam and it's definitely an upgrade from my previous whisk. Super love it! 🤍
I always try to take advantage of Nio teas great discounts they seem to always have right when I need to resupply for tea and matcha essentials. My go to company for amazing authentic tea. 🍵😄
It’s really good and I’m sure it might be my skill but the whisk were starting to look deformed and the middle one isn’t woven together anymore if anyone has any tips pls tell
The Nio Teas matcha whisk is a game-changer! I used to struggle with clumps in my matcha, but this whisk effortlessly blends the matcha powder into the water, resulting in a perfectly smooth and creamy drink.
As a matcha lover, I've tried various matcha whisks, but this chasen is the best one I've used! It makes it so much easier to get the foam on top of the matcha, creating a perfectly balanced and delicious drink.
